Texas A&M University-Commerce (provider # 203) offers Texas real estate courses for Pre- licensing, Salesperson Apprentice Education (SAE) and Broker program requirements, in conjunction with Continuing Education for Licensing, Inc. (C.E.L.I.). All courses are accepted by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and include a quality textbook, which is yours to keep. All courses and materials are also approved by Texas A&M University-Commerce and C.E.L.I. to assure the student receives the best material available.

Do you need to renew your Texas real estate salesperson or broker license? To renew either of these licenses, first determine if your license renewal is in Salesperson Apprentice Education (SAE) or Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) status by viewing the descriptions below titled: “Texas SAE (Salesperson Apprentice Education) Courses” or “Texas MCE (Mandatory Continuing Education) Courses”. Once you have determined your continuing education requirement, make your course selection from the appropriate course offerings and select the course you would like to complete. Take advantage of the convenient home study courses offered through Texas A&M University-Commerce in association with Continuing Education for Licensing, Inc. (C.E.L.I.) and complete your education requirements on YOUR time and schedule.

(C.E.L.I.) offers Texas real estate courses for Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) in a correspondence program with your choice of online or proctored testing. All courses are approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC).

Salesperson Pre-Licensing

Texas Salesperson Pre-Licensing Courses

As of 09/01/2012, an applicant must have a minimum of 180 hours, consisting of Principles of Real Estate, Law of Agency, Law of Contracts, Promulgated Contracts, and Real Estate Finance to be eligible to take the Texas Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Exam. Related course credit may no longer be used to meet education requirements for a salespersons license.
 
Broker Pre-Licensing

Texas Broker Pre-Licensing Courses

To be eligible to take the Texas real estate Broker exam, a Salesperson must have an active license during the 60 month period immediately preceding the filing of the application and must demonstrate not less than 3600 points of qualifying practical experience obtained during four out of five years. Salespersons must obtain a total of 900 hours, of which 270 hours must be in CORE courses; the additional 630 hours may be in CORE or RELATED. A 30 hour Brokerage course must also be completed as part of the 270 CORE hours.
 
SAE (Salesperson Apprentice Education)

Texas SAE (Salesperson Apprentice Education) Courses

For those applying on or after 09/01/2012: All active AND inactive salespersons, who are under the SAE requirement must show evidence of having completed a minimum of 90 hours in core real estate education during the two year license term, so that a total of 270 hours have been completed by the end of the second year of licensure.
 
MCE (Mandatory Continuing Education)

Texas MCE (Mandatory Continuing Education) Courses

Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) - Active Salespersons who are not subject to SAE requirements are required to complete MCE for an active license renewal. The MCE requirement is 15 hours. At least 6 of the 15 hours must consist of a three hour legal update course and a 3 hour legal ethics course, created for and approved by TREC.
