All real estate home study courses are approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) and include a quality textbook, which is yours to keep. You also have the option of completing an online or proctored test.

You also can register for a home study course approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) that will include a textbook, which is yours to keep and your choice of an online or proctored test. Pre-License

Texas Pre-License Courses

As of 01/01/2006, an applicant must have a minimum of 210 hours to be eligible to take the Texas real estate Salesperson licensing exam. The 210 hours can be all in CORE courses, or they can be 150 hours in CORE with 60 hours in related courses.
SAE

Texas SAE Courses

Salesperson Annual Education (SAE) - A Salesperson licensed PRIOR to 01/01/2006 must complete 30 CORE hours every year for the first 3 years of licensure. A Salesperson who made application ON OR AFTER 01/01/2006 must complete 60 CORE hours for their first renewal.
MCE

Texas MCE Courses

Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) - Active Salespersons who are not subject to SAE requirements are required to complete MCE for an active license renewal. The MCE requirement is 15 hours, of which 6 hours must be in legal topics.

Broker Pre-Licensing

Texas Broker Pre-Licensing Courses

To be eligible to take the Texas real estate Broker exam, a Salesperson must have an active license for two years and must obtain a total of 900 hours, of which 270 hours must be CORE courses, the additional 630 hours may be in CORE and/or RELATED courses. EFFECTIVE January 1, 2008, a 30-hour Real Estate Brokerage course must also be completed as part of the 270 CORE hours. Courses cannot be repeated for a period of 3 years after previous completion.
