Do you need to renew your Texas real estate salesperson or broker license? To renew either of these licenses, first determine if your license renewal is in Salesperson Apprentice Education (SAE) or Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) status by viewing the descriptions below titled: Texas SAE (Salesperson Apprentice Education) Courses or Texas MCE (Mandatory Continuing Education) Courses.

 

Real Estate ONLINE Exam Prep Courses

We are currently offering the Texas Real Estate Exam Prep in two different formats: 100% Online and textbook based.
 
 

Sales Agent Pre-Licensing Courses

As of 09/01/2012, an applicant must have a minimum of 180 hours, consisting of Principles of Real Estate, Law of Agency, Law of Contracts, Promulgated Contracts, and Real Estate Finance to be eligible to take the Texas Real Estate Salesperson Licensing Exam. Related course credit may no longer be used to meet education requirements for a salespersons license.
 
 

SAE (Sales Agent Apprentice Education) Courses

For those applying on or after 09/01/2012: All active AND inactive salespersons, who are under the SAE requirement must show evidence of having completed a minimum of 90 hours in core real estate education during the two year license term, so that a total of 270 hours have been completed by the end of the second year of licensure.
 
 

CE (Continuing Education) Courses

Continuing Education (CE) - Active Sales Agents who are not subject to SAE requirements are required to complete CE for an active license renewal. Effective January 1, 2016, the CE requirement is 18 hours. Licensees subject to CE must complete the TREC Legal Update I (4 hours) and TREC Legal Update II (4 hours) courses, in addition to 10 elective hours.
