When representing buyers and sellers, one of the most important things a real estate licensee does is prepare and review offers for the parties by filling in the blanks of promulgated forms. It is necessary for licensees to not only know what goes in the blanks, but also what is in the preprinted portion of the contract. This course exposes students to the forms promulgated by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) for mandatory use by licensees and discusses the unauthorized practice of law and the Texas Real Estate Broker-Lawyer Committee. The course also provides a clear, practical approach to purchase agreements and an in-depth analysis of Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) forms for new licensees and seasoned practitioners. For additional practice, students will also be provided with a course supplement containing actual contract forms in which the student will be able to fill out the forms according to various scenario transactions.
Students will receive a textbook for the course, which sets our real estate licensing program apart. The textbook (written by TREC approved instructors) has proven to be an invaluable tool to pre-licensing students in preparation for the state licensing exam. Course materials are shipped via UPS Ground; therefore, to avoid shipping delays, please provide a physical address on your registration form (no PO boxes).

**New** TREC rules which which became effective 9/1/17 indicate that the final exam must be proctored. You may choose from one of the following course delivery methods. Please read each one carefully to ensure that you register for your preferred method.
COURSE DELIVERY METHODS:
( 1 ) PROCTORED ONLINE FORMAT: (Please note that this is a new format than what has previously been offered)
Students will complete the coursework online. Once all coursework is complete, you will then either:
(a) designate a proctor to administer the closed book final exam; or
(b) schedule a date/time to complete the final exam at our office in Canton, Tx.
( 2 ) C.E.L.I. OFFICE Students will schedule a date and time to come to our office in Canton, TX to complete the coursework and final exam.
A proctor is an approved person that administers an exam and agrees to fulfill the proctor responsibilities required by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). The proctor will verify a student's identity and will ensure that academic integrity guidelines are followed during the exam. Per TREC rules, a proctor must be one of the following: (1) employee at an official testing or learning/tutoring center; (2) librarian at a school, university, or public library; (3) college/university administrator, faculty, or academic advisor; (4) clergy affiliated with a specific church, temple, synagogue, or mosque; (5) an educational officer of a military installation or correctional facility; or (6) notary public. You may also choose to complete your exam at our office in Canton, TX.
NOTE: Per TREC rules, a student is allowed 2 opportunities to pass the final exam. If a student fails the exam, they may retake the exam only once after waiting at least three days.
