Breaking Down Commercial Real Estate and Basic Commercial Real Estate Course Description:
Sales opportunities for commercial and investment properties are rich, but the rules for buying, holding, and selling real estate can often be completely different from those governing the residential realm. Students are given 90 days from the date of registration to complete this package.
Students will receive a textbook for the course. Course materials are shipped via UPS Ground; therefore, please provide a physical address on your registration form (no PO boxes). UPS overnight shipping is available for an additional charge. Please contact us if you desire expedited shipping.
There are two methods available for completing the coursework: ONLINE or PROCTORED. Please ensure that you register for your preferred method. Following is a description of each method:
ONLINE EXAM: A username, password and website link to the testing center will be sent to the student via email the following business day once the student's registration has been processed. The online testing center is available 24 hours/day. Once the online quiz and exam has been successfully completed, a Certificate of Completion will be available for printing.
PROCTORED EXAM: A proctor is an approved person that administers an exam and agrees to fulfill the proctor responsibilities required by the Texas Real Estate Commission. The proctor will verify a student's identity and will ensure that academic integrity guidelines are followed during the exam. Effective 01/01/2016, per TREC rules, a proctor must be one of the following: (1) employee at an official testing or learning/tutoring center; (2) librarian at a school, university, or public library; (3) college/university administrator, faculty, or academic advisor; (4) clergy affiliated with a specific church, temple, synagogue, or mosque; or (5) an educational officer of a military installation or correctional facility. You may also choose to complete your exam at our office in Canton, TX.
Under the proctored method, you will provide your proctor's information on the required form which will be included in your course material. You will then fax/mail/email this form to C.E.L.I. and your exam will then be mailed to the proctor that you designate. Once the exam is completed in the presence of the proctor, the proctor will return the exam material by mail for grading. Once the exam has been successfully completed, C.E.L.I. will report your completion to TREC.
