For those preparing to become a real estate sales agent or broker in Texas, success on the Texas real estate licensing exam a major milestone! The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) has contracted with PearsonVue to administer the exam. PearsonVue is a testing service company that administers the Texas real estate licensing exam. Per TREC requirements, to earn a Texas real estate sales agent or broker license, both the national and state-specific exams must be completed and passed. The national real estate exam is designed to assess foundational knowledge in property ownership, land use controls, valuation, contracts, agency relationships, and real estate practice.
The PearsonVue exam for Texas sales agents and brokers consists of 85 multiple-choice questions, which include a few unscored pretest items. Applicants are given 150 minutes to complete the national portion. Additionally, candidates must also pass the Texas state portion to obtain their license.
