TREC Licensing Requirements for Texas Professional and Real Estate Home Inspectors

Real Estate Inspector

A Real Estate Inspector license is considered an intermediate level. To qualify:

• Required qualifying education hours must be completed.

• Required inspection reports must be submitted and approved.

• The state licensing examination must be passed.

Most importantly, as a Professional Inspector, inspections cannot be performed independently. Work must be sponsored by a Professional Inspector.

A TREC Texas Professional Inspector license is the highest level of inspector licensing in Texas. In addition to completing advanced qualifying education:

• Required qualifying education hours and/or experience requirements must be satisfied.

• Additional inspection reports must be submitted.

• The Professional Inspector licensing examination must be passed.
