The Difference Between Real Estate Sales Agent & Realtors®

Licensing Requirements
A real estate sales agent is an individual who has completed the necessary training and obtained a state license to assist clients in buying, selling, or renting properties. In contrast, a Realtor® Realtor is a licensed real estate agent who is also a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Membership in NAR requires adherence to a strict code of ethics and professional standards, elevating a Realtor’s commitment to their clients and the industry.

Access to Resources
As members of NAR, a Realtor® can have access to various tools, resources, and networking opportunities that are not typically available to non-members. This includes exclusive data on market trends, specialized training courses, and the ability to connect with a broader network of professionals.
